GRAND OPENING Saturday November 8th 2008! Meet the Artist in Person! 7pm - 11pm. Free giveaways and lots of fun! See ya there!

Artist Ashton Howard has teamed up with some of his most avid collectors to create a surf themed restaurant called, "The Surf Shack". Ashton met collectors Terry Boylan and Wesley Coats at a gallery in Houston, Texas and developed a friendship through their mutual love of diving, the ocean, and the environment. Ash stayed in touch over the years through numerous art shows in the Houston area.

Three years later, Terry Boylan called Howard and told him to get his brushes ready for a major project. After jumping on a plane to Houston, Howard was presented with a new restaurant space and over 2200 sq.ft. of "blank canvas".

"My art truly speaks of who I am as a surfer, ocean lover, and waterman. I try to create a mood and a feeling of those magical times we remember when the lighting was just perfect that day. To me my art is deeper than just a perfect wave or a beautiful landscape, it is a connection with those who truly appreciate nature, our oceans, and enjoy spending time in the beautiful outdoors".

Ashton hand painted more than 2200 sq.ft. of huge waves, desolate beaches, shipwrecks, swaying palms, and waterfalls. In addition, he has been commissioned to create The Surf Shack logo, menu design, material exploration and interior accessories along with the gift store merchandise. ART BUSINESS NEWS 2008
